So, I kind of really pushed the limits of this deadline, and I'm so glad. If I hadn't, I would've written some article about something that's not LEMONADE and who wants anything pop culture this week that's not LEMONADE-related? Me neither.
As most of the universe is aware of, nay, is still in the process of recovering from, Beyoncé released an hour-long visual album entitled LEMONADE last Saturday. B's ferocity, artistry, and culture is flowing through every aspect of the visual album. The songs are intertwined with spoken-word poetry, which highlighted Beyoncé's strength and beauty in a completely vulnerable and purely emotional way. Perhaps the most shocking part of the highly anticipated album is the explicit calling-out of Jay-Z (we're pretty sure, but have also heard speculation of references to B's infamously disloyal father), for cheating with designer Rachel Roy. It's equally empowering and heartbreaking from start to finish.
Each song in the video is tied to an emotion, these include Intuition, Denial, Anger, Apathy, Emptiness, Accountability, Reformation, Forgiveness, Resurrection, Hope, and Redemption. Naturally, a large part of each emotional motif was conveyed through her fashion choices, and each was more mesmerizing and beautiful than the last. From Roberto Cavalli to Yeezy to Rosie Assoulin, here is a look at some of LEMONADE's stunning wardrobe that we'll remember long after we find out who Becky with the good hair is.
Crop top, Leggings-Yeezy. Fur coat-Hood by Air.
